Frequently asked questions about White Rose Rugby Camps
Everything parents typically ask about ages, ability, kit, weather, collection, medical arrangements and bookings.
What age is the rugby camp for?
The camp is for children aged 8 to 14 — roughly school Years 4 to 9. Groups are set by age and stage.
Does my child need previous rugby experience?
No. Sessions are adapted for beginners and experienced junior players alike.
Is the camp suitable for beginners?
Yes. New players are supported to learn the basics of passing, catching, movement and small-sided games in a friendly environment.
Where is the camp held?
Bishop Burton College, York Road, Bishop Burton, Beverley, East Yorkshire, HU17 8QG — near Beverley and about 25 minutes from central Hull.
What time does the camp start and finish?
9:00am until 3:00pm each day, Monday 10 August to Friday 14 August 2026.
What should my child bring?
A packed lunch, snacks, refillable water bottle, rugby boots, trainers, sports clothing for the weather, a waterproof jacket and any prescribed medication in its original packaging.
Is lunch provided?
No. Children should bring a packed lunch and snacks each day.
Are rugby boots required?
Rugby boots are recommended for most sessions; trainers are useful for indoor or dry-ground activities. Bring both if possible.
What happens in bad weather?
The programme is adapted to conditions and continues in most weather. If severe weather forces a significant change, parents will be contacted directly.
Can somebody else collect my child?
Yes, provided they are listed as an authorised collector at booking or verified through the camp's collection procedure using the collection password.
How is medication managed?
Full details are collected securely at booking. Medication must be supplied in its original packaging and arrangements are agreed in advance.
What happens if my child has an allergy?
Allergy information is collected at booking and shared only with relevant staff. Please supply any prescribed medication (e.g. auto-injectors) with clear instructions.
Are photographs taken?
Only in line with the photography permissions selected by the parent or guardian at booking.
Can I book only one day?
The camp is sold as a complete five-day experience. Individual days may be released later if capacity allows.
What is the refund policy?
Refund eligibility is set out in the booking terms — please review them before payment.
How many places are available?
40 places in total for August 2026.
Who leads the camp?
Sam Britton, RFU Coaching Award-qualified and first-aid trained, supported by additional coaches confirmed in the parent information pack.
Is this a residential camp?
No — this is a day camp. Children arrive each morning and are collected each afternoon.
